We often quote that we can do all things through Jesus Christ.  Yes, this is absolutely true…we can do ALL things through Christ.  What is interesting is what Paul wrote before he said he can do all things through Christ.  Philippians 4:11 For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me.

 Twice Paul says that he had to learn how to be content.  Life is full of learning experiences.  As you go through whatever circumstances you are facing today, ask God to teach you (so that you can learn) to be content.  There is a secret Paul says to being content.  He learned the secret…what is this secret?  Could it be that Paul did not focus on the problems or situations that were in the natural but rather focused and trusted in a BIG God that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or imagine.  Today, set your mind on things above.  Set your heart on things above.  The things you see in the natural are temporary.  What you don’t see is eternal.  I consider our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Want to shine like a STAR?‏

Philippians 2:14 “Do everything without complaining and arguing. So that you may become blameless (no one can criticize you) and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.”

The world and sadly many Christians are complainers, grumblers, fault finders and love to argue.  The word teaches us to do Everything without complaining and arguing.  The world is so negative & dark, that if you do this you will be a shinning star.  You will stand out and be different.

Have a good attitude, even if things don’t go your way.  Do not complain or argue, rather serve God & one another with a thankful and grateful heart…keeping focused on God & the mission at hand.
